Regarding recent letters in your paper about the bleak future faced by the offspring of drug addicts and users, isn't it time that social services took a firm stance on this issue and removed for adoption such children at a young enough age that they have not been irreparably damaged, and placed them in adoptive homes.
There are plenty of couples searching for babies to adopt in China, Romania, etc, who could surely offer these children a brighter future than the hopeless one they are doomed to living with drug addicts.
