The May elections will soon be upon us and the main political parties will have the cheek to expect our vote. I have two questions for them. In the so-called English Channel the French have 92 per cent of the cod quota. What are they going to do about it?

Another issue is that we are soon to have power shortages. We have to choose whether to sit in the dark or disobey a European directive that we can only operate coal plants for a short period. This directive was probably drawn up by a Frenchman having a laugh. It will not worry the French because most of their electricity comes from nuclear power stations.

So let us know what your plans are.
