Hundreds of homes were left with no power for four hours after an electrical failure.
A fault on EDF Energy's high voltage network affected around 2,000 premises in Eastbourne yesterday morning.
A spokesman for the energy supplier said the power cut happened at 7.30am and engineers had restored power by noon.
They apologised for the inconvenience and said the cause of the problem was not yet known.
