Two children went to a fire station looking for help after managing to clamp themselves together with a bike lock.
Firefighters in Lewes were bemused to see the pair of under 10s wander into the station in North Street at 6.30pm on Friday with the cable wrapped around their waists.
They said it had become so tight once it was on that they could not get to the lock.
A pair of bolt-cutters was used to chop through the flexi cable and the youngsters were sent on their way.
