I get terrible low backache, mainly because I have to do a lot of lifting in my job. Now I've been told it's all due to a problem with my sacro-iliac.
What on earth is that?
Although most people haven't heard of it, the sacro-iliac is one of the commonest sites of back pain. It's a joint between two large bones and it's located just under the dimple at the top of the buttock. If it gets slightly displaced, for instance by lifting, the result can be agonizing pain.
Osteopaths and chiropractors are good at mobilising this joint through manipulation and so easing the pain. It would be worth your while seeing one. However, it sounds as if you may need to get a job that doesn't involve lifting.
