Wired Sussex, the not-for-profit support and networking agency for digital media companies, is holding a jobs fair tomorrow in association with The Argus.

The Brighton Digital Media Jobs Fair is at the Jury's Inn hotel, directly behind Brighton railway station, from noon to 9pm. The event will bring together the cream of the city's thriving digital media companies.

The jobs fair is a direct result of the need for more highly skilled workers in the city's booming digital media industry.

It aims to combat Brighton's "brain drain" - it is estimated that more than half the city's economically active population leaves Brighton every day to earn a living.

Whether you are a web developer, graphic designer or games engineer - or you have no experience of the sector and would like your first break - there will be plenty of companies to make contact with.

Companies at the fair include the creators of Second Life Linden Lab, the hugely successful iCrossing, Cogapp, WPM Internet, Madgex, Relentless, Club Penguin (part of the Walt Disney Company), NCSoft and Designate.

Phil Jones, managing director of Wired Sussex, said: "There's a disconnect between the number of fast-growing media companies desperate for the right staff and the number of people with the right skill-sets who still feel they need to get on a train to London every day in order to further their careers.

"This fair aims to address that by bringing these two groups together."

Brighton-based Wired Sussex was established in 1997 and became a subsidiary of the business support organisation Sussex Enterprise a year later.

Since then it has operated as a separate business, providing new media enterprises with online information, networking opportunities and business support.
