Brighton and Hove Albion has applied for planning permission to extend its stay at Withdean stadium.

The club has asked the city council to extend its lease until 2011 - a year after the club is scheduled to move into a new £50 million stadium at Falmer.

However Albion chief executive Martin Perry has moved to assure fans he expects no delays to the Falmer process, and the club still expects to kick off the 2010/11 season in its new home.
