A man who ran a brothel at his home with his wife has been spared prison.

Andrew Whitlock, 47, of Cheshire Close, Bognor, had two Chinese prostitutes working from his house.

He ran the business with his wife Wan Si Kam with whom he had been renting the house in the small residential close since the beginning of 2007.

They were caught after neighbours complained to police of queues of men in the street outside the property waiting to see the women.

When officers raided the house in June last year they found three men there either engaged in sex acts with the women or waiting to see them.

At Chichester Crown Court, Whitlock was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for a year, after he was convicted of two counts of money laundering and keeping a brothel.

Wan Si Kam, who was charged with assisting in the management of a brothel, will be sentenced for her offence at Chichester Crown Court on May 13.

When she and Whitlock were initially arrested, police found £1,107.05 in cash which they confiscated.
