If you are looking for a wedding band, don't book iLiKETRAiNS.
If, however, you want to soundtrack the inner turmoil of a pessimistic Soviet submariner, you can end you search here.
The history-fixated band consistently reach for the stars with their grandiose epic rock, but all too often they fall short at the clouds.
There was a lot of potential on show at the Barfly, but most of it remained unfulfilled.
iLiKETRAiNS should be applauded for their vision, but it has been done with more power and panache by the likes of Sigur Ros and the sadly defunct Hope Of The States.
Cheery banter lifted the oppressive mood created by the quintet's ominous sound, but it didn't translate into the music.
iLiKETRAiNS have a solid platform, but they still miss the magic ingredients to transform them from a decent band into a great one.
