About 40 drinkers were evacuated from a pub when an air conditioning unit caught fire.
The fire broke out at The Roundstone in Roundstone Lane, East Preston, near Littlehampton, last night.
Crews from East Preston fire station were called to the blaze at 10.34pm.
The fire in the two-storey building was put out using carbon dioxide extinguishers by 11.03pm.
