I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who kindly stopped to help my husband and I when we both fell while out walking in London Road, Brighton, at noon on Monday, April 28.

A particular thank you to the lady who stayed with my husband, holding his hand and generally comforting and calming him until the ambulance arrived. And to the lady and gentleman who helped me to my feet and took me to a seat outside the Costa coffee shop.

Last but not least our thanks to those brilliant boys, the paramedics, who arrived within minutes of being called. And of course to the doctors and nurses in A&E.

We are recuperating in readiness for our next adventure which hopefully won't be quite as traumatic as this one.
