Once again St Peter's Church tries to make a comeback (The Argus, May 1). I feel sorry for all the churches in the surrounding area who thought they were closing to save St Peter's. They sighed with relief when they were told that St Peter's was closing.
Now they are being upset again with the attempted resuscitation of this long dead building. As for the petition of almost 7,000 signatures, is that all they have? These are gathered by a few people who gather signatures from anywhere they can.
It doesn't seem many if you take into consideration the millions of people who come through this city every year and the number of years they have had to collect signatures.
It would be interesting to know how many of the 7,000 live in this country never mind this parish. I think it's about time we pinned a notice saying "do not resuscitate" to the doors of this building.
