An early intimate show by the best thing to come out of Ashby De La Zouche since Adrian Mole.

Superabundance, Young Knives's followup to the Mercury Music Prize-nominated Voices Of Animals And Men, should surely be up for the award again next year with great new songs such as Up All Night, Lightswitch, Terra Firma and new single Turn Tail.

The trio is based around brothers Henry Dartnall and The House Of Lords and schoolfriend Oliver Askew and has been releasing records since 2001, starting with their seven-track album Are Dead on indie label Shifty Disco.

The debut was re-released with extra tracks in the wake of the band's Mercury Music Prize nomination.

  • Look out for the Young Knives in the slightly bigger space of the Pavilion Theatre on Friday, May 16, at 10.15pm.
