American singer-songwriter Devon Sproule and Brakes frontman Eamon Hamilton are heading up Brighton-based promoter Melting Vinyl's celebration of the thriving Future Folk scene.

A regular visitor to Brighton, having played at The Greys and The Hanbury Club over the past year, Charlottesville-based Devon's profile has been growing since her appearance on later With Jools Holland.

She will be playing songs from her second album Keep Your Silver Shined, an album she described as her marriage album, after getting hitched to fellow singer-songwriter Paul Curreri.

Anyone who turned up early to British Sea Power's recent homecoming gigs at Komedia and Digital would have caught Eamon Hamilton's solo show, and it is one not to be missed.

There is a limited number of £5 tickets for non- Great Escape-goers available from the Duke Of York's box office on 0871 7042056.

  • Also: THOMAS WHITE, one half of the brothers behind Electric Soft Parade, performs a solo show in the Komedia Studio Bar at 1.15am, and raucous bad kids BLACK LIPS play the Barfly, in Gloucester Place, Brighton, at 1.30am.
