At 4.30am on Tuesday, I saw some rubbish bags being ripped apart in Kemp Town, not by seagulls but by two town foxes. I might add that they both looked healthy.
There is a large group of foxes in this area and they are regularly seen.
Seagulls are part of the coastal scene and without our feathered neighbours, life would not be the same.
They have been vilified for causing rubbish problems. In fact, we all could learn a lot from these birds. They are loyal, pair for life and they are excellent parents.
They also offer the best dustbin service on the South Coast, picking up all the scraps they can eat, that we humans throw away on to the streets.
It's humans who have to clean up their act, not our animal friends.
