When I buy fruit and veg from the supermarket, I sometimes wonder why it needs so much packaging and labelling. Do we really need to know which particular African country our beans or peppers come from?
But recently, seeing hungry Africans on our TV screens rioting for food, I realise that the labels on our food are there to make us think the world has gone mad.
