AN OIL spillage from a cement mixer is causing severe delays stretching back to the A27.

The spillage happened at around 4pm in Falmer Road, Woodingdean, heading southbound.

Traffic is stretching back all the way to the A27 in Falmer Road, while there is heavy traffic on the Warren Road approach and continuing on to Falmer Road towards Rottingdean.

One person claims a cement mixer is leaking oil on to the road and making it like an “ice rink”.

Another person said they have been queueing for 40 minutes along Falmer Road and have still not made it to Woodingdean.

Queues are going all the way to Coldean on the A27 as people get on to the Falmer turn-off eastbound.

Sussex Police are helping with traffic management.

The force has been approached for comment.
