A butcher will be offering free bacon rolls to veterans.

Paul Clark, of Clark’s Meat and Poultry in Lewes Road, will be serving bacon rolls and hot drinks to veterans at next week’s Remembrance service.

The service will take place at Old Steine in Brighton and Paul will be there with Jim Deans from Sussex Homeless Support serving bacon rolls from a burger van nearby.

The Argus:

“Veterans do so much for us, it is the least we can do to support them,” said Paul.

“My wife’s dad collected money for the Poppy Appeal and he passed away this year so it is also in remembrance of him.”

“We thought it would be good to give back,” said Paul.

“The veterans stand at the Remembrance service in the cold and wet so we thought it would be a nice thing to do.”

Paul and Jim will be at Old Steine next Sunday and will be giving out free bacon rolls, tea and coffee to veterans after the Remembrance service ends just after 11am.
