Despite the inevitability of government cutbacks, the virtue-signalling Greens have just realised that there was a need to properly address their finances.

As a result they are facing a substantial budget deficit. So what do they do – blame the government of course and advise us that cuts and savings will be needed to enable them to balance the books and remain financially viable.

One of their proposed savings concerns closing a significant number of public toilets. Quite apart from the fact that a proposal of this nature – which concerns all of us – seems ludicrous, research reveals that the use of a public toilet is a basic human right.

The right to sanitation is an element of “the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living for himself and his family” (Article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights or ICESCR).

Everyone has the right to use a public toilet when needed, and Changing Places. Toilets are a lifeline for millions of disabled people and families across the UK.

Clearly the Green Party’s predicament is serious and it seems to me that the first port of call should be for a public disclosure of all their expenditure. Is the truth of the matter that they are continuing to spend vast sums of money on their stupid schemes, such as creating unnecessary and unwanted cycle lanes as they continue their vendetta against motorists, despite cars being essential in today’s world and the fact that the UK’s global emissions are minimal.

It has been indicated that one of the causes of loss of income was a reduction in parking charges. Is this surprising? The charges are astronomical with the result that residents and, more particularly, visitors are not visiting the area. Result – loss of income from tourists and the like, and a city in decline.
