Like everyone else I have just received a notice re photo ID for the upcoming local elections.

What a waste of time and money, just like our local councillors.

You send them emails, you telephone them and all you get is an answer phone or an email saying they have received it. Then silence, nothing.

I cannot think of one problem I have contacted my councillor about that has achieved a result. They are powerless against the council bureaucracy.

Just look how every available space is being built upon. Look how crowded the roads and schools are. When did you last see your doctor or get a hospital appointment?

They are allowing this once beautiful area to become, I’m sorry to say, an overcrowded shambles. Why? Because they don’t fight the planners. They just sit there and take the money.

So what is the point of having them?

That is why, after some 50 odd years, I will not be voting. It’s a complete waste of time.
