A rock opera satirising the life of former Prime Minister Tony Blair is coming to Brighton.

Tony! The Tony Blair Rock Opera, written by comedian Harry Hill, is set to play at the Theatre Royal after a run on the West End.

The musical, which will also feature Princess Diana, Saddam Hussein and Liam Gallagher, will tour the UK and has been described as “Yes, Minister meets The Rocky Horror Show”.

Former Labour PM Blair is set to be played by Jack Whittle who has previously starred in The Play That Goes Wrong on the West End.

Other cast members include Tori Burgess as Cherie Blair, Rosie Strobel as John Prescott and Phil Sealey as Gordon Brown.

The musical will play a limited season in the Leicester Square Theatre in April before playing at the Theatre Royal in Brighton.

Tony! The Tony Blair Rock Opera will play in Brighton from June 27 to July 1.
