Parts of Sussex have seen snow overnight as an Arctic blast has struck parts of the UK.

Haywards Heath, Petworth, and areas outside of Brighton saw dustings of snow this morning, with some motorists struggling on the roads.

Flights at Gatwick have also seen delays after some snowfall at the airport.

A Met Office weather warning remains in place for snow and ice across Sussex and most of southern England.

Light rain is expected to end later this morning, being replaced by cloud and fog. However, the rain will make a return at the start of the afternoon; starting with light showers but turning heavy from around 2pm.

The downpours are forecast to end at around 8pm, with drizzly conditions anticipated late in the evening.

While parts of central England and Wales could see more snow into this afternoon and this evening, Sussex will seemingly be spared more wintry conditions, with a band of rain drenching the county from the west.
