The brother of a convicted killer has been warned by police for allegedly harassing the victim's teenage sister.

Michael Morgan, 15, was murdered last July by his friend Kieran Wright, 17, at a party at a caravan site in Brighton Road, Lancing.

Wright, of Adelaide Square, Shoreham, who has a history of violence, was given a life sentence last December for butchering his sleeping pal with two kitchen knives and a table leg.

Now his older brother Omar has been accused of verbally abusing Michael's 13-year-old sister Emma in the field behind her home.

Michael's mother Helen Long, of Nicolson Drive, Shoreham, said: "It upset Emma. At first she tried to make out it didn't bother her but she was worried.

"It had been going on for a couple of weeks and we kept a written log.

"We told the police and they said if there were four or more incidents they would act.

"Since he was arrested the harassment has stopped. He was warned not to come near the family by the police."

Omar Wright was given a letter which warned him not to repeat the alleged offences. It is different from a police caution because the individual does not have to admit to committing the offences.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "In relation to the harassment of Michael Morgan's family, the investigation has now concluded.

"No witnesses were willing to go to court or provide a statement. On advice from the CPS an individual was given a warning."

Mother-of-three Mrs Long said the alleged harassment made it more difficult for the family to move on from Michael's death.

She said: "My little boy had to change school because he couldn't cope where he was. The girls are not too bad.

"As his mum, no I'm not coping at all. There are days when I don't want to get up, don't want to do anything, don't want to talk about it."

Days after Wright was sentenced, The Argus revealed he should have been wearing an electronic tag when he stabbed his friend.

The company which fitted the tags, Group 4 Securicor, said Wright was ordered to wear the tag for a previous offence but an error meant the device was not replaced for two days.
