Repairs to a street where hundreds of buses were diverted are yet to be completed despite initial suggestions they would be done by the first week of May.
Parts of Upper North Street in Brighton remain closed due to significant damage to the road with work originally expected to be finished by May 5.
Now, nearly two weeks later, the road remains blocked by the works with the finish date pushed back to June.
One concerned member of the public said: “There has been no information or updates and we have had mixed messages from the council.
“Days and days go by with no trucks or workers and there is garbage in some of the holes.
“This has been very disruptive. It’s still a big problem but often there’s no one there.”
Upper North Street was closed at the end of March until further notice due to a “severe” water leak but signs on the roadworks said this was expected to be completed by May 5.

Traffic data suggests the roadwork delays have been extended until June 9, over a month after the original finish date for the works.
Residents have expressed concerns that the damage to the road was caused by buses diverted as part of the development work in Western Road. Brighton and Hove City Council denies the buses caused the damage.
A leak was later spotted on the new diversion route in Montpelier Road, however the council reiterated that this was “entirely unrelated” to the bus diversion.
Bus traffic has been diverted off Western Road due to the renovation works there.
Western Road will be closed to traffic in the eastbound direction for up to 18 months as part of works to improve the city centre.
Brighton and Hove City Council was approached for comment about the new completion date for the Upper North Street work.
