A Boris Bike has been found a long way from home... in Brighton.

The Santander cycle, colloquially named after the former London Mayor and Prime Minister who launched the scheme, was spotted locked up in Jubilee Square.

The bike, part of a hire scheme in London, is thought to have been left in the square for several days.

Despite the bike being limited to the capital city, it appears to still be in use as it has been locked to a lamppost.

The bike retains the scheme’s red branding, stand and basket.

Boris Bikes were first launched in London in 2010 as part of a hire scheme to allow residents to commute across the capital.
