A rural road has been closed after a two-car crash which has reportedly left one person trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters have rushed to the scene with the road closed in both directions due to the collision.
The road is likely to be closed for some time with drivers urged to avoid the area.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The A272 Station Road at Cowfold is currently closed in both directions following a road traffic collision.
“The road is likely to remain closed for some time. We would urge drivers to avoid the area to allow firefighters to work safely.”
The Argus understands that the crash involves two cars and that one person remains trapped in the vehicle.
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
