A bath tub race which attracts hundreds of spectators has been cancelled for a second time because of health and safety fears.
The Adur Bath Tub Race broke with 35 years' of tradition last year when it was called off because of safety concerns and escalating insurance costs.
Now disappointed participants will have to hang up their paddles and tubs for another year.
Organisers will now try to make sense of the lengthy health and safety procedures needed to protect them from potential litigation.
Mrs Bailey believes the health and safety hurdles are not insurmountable and she has promised the event will return in 2009.
Anyone interested in being on the bath tub race committee should call 07952 239957 or email donnabailey1@sky.com. People with queries regarding entries to this year's postponed event should call 07957 887826.
