A number of pubs are opening early to allow fans to cheer on the Lionesses in their second World Cup match against Denmark.

Excitement for the tournament has been ramping up and England were successful on their first outing after a 1-0 win against Haiti.

Now, pubs and bars in Brighton and Hove will be opening their doors early to give fans somewhere to watch the second group match game.

Listed on venue finding website Fanzo, The Font in The Lanes will be one of many sites opening early for the match.

Sports bar chain Walkabout in West Street will also be opening its doors earlier than usual for fans wanting to watch the games, with kick off early in the morning as games are being played in Australia and New Zealand.

While England’s group game will be held in Sydney, fans in Brighton can watch the televised matches in pubs such as the New Unity in London Road.

The sports bar will be open with projectors and screens on offer for those wanting to catch the match.

Other city centre venues showing the match include The Post and Telegraph Wetherspoons on North Street as well as Ye Olde King and Queen who are opening early for all of England’s games.

England’s campaign got off to a good start after a 1-0 win against Haiti with Georgia Stanway converting from the penalty spot.

Denmark also had a similarly good start with a 1-0 win against China, who England play on Tuesday. A win against Denmark would send the Lionesses top of Group D with one game to play.

The Lionesses play Denmark in their second group stage match this morning. Kick off is at 9.30am with the match televised on BBC One.
