I AM SICK of this debate about the York Gate Bus Gate fines.

The reason for the excessive infringements is that the signage is not clear.

For a  motorist travelling east down North Road and turning north into Gloucester Place, there is no signage on North Road to indicate that turning left is a prohibited manoeuvre save a small “local traffic” sign in advance of the junction.

No coloured surfacing is needed as suggested, just a clear ADS (advance direction sign) that details the full junction layout, including Marlborough Place and Grand Parade, and showing the prohibited and permitted manoeuvres.

Perhaps someone could pass this on to the highways team.
