Art lovers will descend on Madeira Drive tomorrow for a debut art exhibition - and the gallery promises it will be "spectacular".

Surrealist artist MsDre's vibrant works will be displayed at the Naked Gallery in Madeira Drive for the first time as her debut exhibition kicks off with tomorrow evening.

Her work takes inspiration from historical figures and tales, such as Greek mythology and mid-century design, using a range of mediums from stencils to spray paint - and it will be available for all to see at the gallery over the next week.

Gallery owner Laura Messenger said: "I’m so excited to have MsDre’s debut solo show in the Naked gallery.

"Seeing her original work on the walls is going to be spectacular. As an artist her energy bursts out into her paintings and to see them all together in this collection is very special."

MsDre, real name Kate Dressekie, comes from a diverse background with Jamaican, Indian, African and English heritage. She also includes a wide range of visual influences in her works, ranging from hummingbirds in her home village in Jamaica, to graffiti boys she hung out with as a teenager in north London.

Her private view at the Naked Gallery will be on Friday, September 15 and runs from 8pm to 10pm.

It will be available for the public to see until Sunday, September 24.
