An unknown yarn bomber has struck at a post box once again – this time celebrating the first day of autumn.

The post box topper in East Hoathly has been decorated with a knitted topper named Mr Mushie of Pumpkin Cottage.

Mr Mushie was introduced to his temporary home on Saturday to celebrate the first official day of autumn 2023.

It is the latest topper to feature on the post box after a number of pieces were spotted over the last year.

The elaborate crochet artwork has been a hit on the village Facebook page, with one resident saying: “This is so beautiful, my favourite so far. They are always amazing, thank you so much.”

Amanda regularly entertains residents with her knitted toppers, having decorated the post box with a seagull enjoying a portion of chips at the start of summer.
