The Victoria Fountain and its impressive lighting will be officially unveiled next week – in the middle of the day.
Brighton and Hove City Council set aside £250,000 to renovate the historic feature after it fell into disrepair.
Now, eight months after work began, the Victoria Fountain, in the Old Steine, Brighton, will be officially relaunched on Thursday, October 12.
But the event takes place at midday meaning the colourful lighting will not be in full effect, though council leader Bella Sankey says this will not dampen celebrations.

“The fantastic thing about our renovated Victoria Fountain is that it can be appreciated both in daylight hours and at night,” she said.
“During the day its lovingly restored stonework can be admired and during the night the beautiful lighting.
“The timing of the official opening has been arranged to make sure the mayor, the Sea Shanty Crew who will be performing, local community groups and others involved in the project can take part in the opening ceremony.”
