The steepest funicular railway in the country has reopened.
East Hill lift in Hastings Old Town is now back in action following a year of repair work.
The planned winter closure had to be brought forward in October last year after an examination of the track showed that repairs were required.
A Hastings Borough Council spokesman said: “We are delighted that the East Hill Lift has reopened following refurbishment work.”
The lift will be open daily from 11am to 4pm during the October half term and will also be open at weekends, 11am to 4pm, throughout the winter season.
