What did The Telegraph say about the Sussex hotels?

Discussing Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa The Telegraph wrote: "For a charmingly old-fashioned stay in an Elizabethan house in the heart of the South Downs, Ockenden offers high-calibre food, a beautiful indoor pool (with children’s swimming times), and the wonder of the rambling landscape around you.

"To use the pretty contemporary spa, parents will need babysitters – or to take turns."

Overall, the hotel received a rating of 8/10 from the newspaper, which also gave that rating to the Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa.

They wrote: "This Twenties mock-mediaeval mansion set in gorgeous parkland is surrounded by cottage annexes, a chapel and barn-style spa.

"The effect is akin to an ancient Sussex hamlet – and there are special children’s pool times, football, quoits, croquet and giant Jenga.

"The sea is a 10-minute stroll away, and the hotel will organise picnics for the beach and separate children’s dining times. It's pet-friendly too."

Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa has also been well-received on Tripadvisor earning a score of 4/5 from 1,569 reviews.

One person wrote: "Lovely room, bed comfy & spotless linens. The food was delicious as always. Beautifully kept grounds with plenty to do.

"Although the hotel is family friendly, the children’s hours in the pool and spa area are limited so there was plenty of peace & quiet as well as time for youngsters to let off steam - a nice balance."

Meanwhile, the Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa also has a 4/5 score on Tripadvisor from 1,387 reviews.
