On January 28 2024 it was reported that the first living human has received the Neuralink brain implant, even after major controversy about the safety and side effects of the procedure.

The patient has been said to be recovering well and "Initial results show promising neuron spike detection"according to Elon Musk the founder of Neuralink. Elon musk founder of Neuralink did not provide additional details about the patient. The patient was probably someone who has quadriplegia due to a cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Elon musks Neuralink chip strives to help individuals who are suffering with paralysis to communicate, by allowing them to control devices with their brain activity. The company said that the purpose of this very first human trial is to evaluate the safety of the chip as well as the surgical robot that implants it into the patient’s brain.

The surgery is not unexpected at prior to it in September 2023 it was given clearance to carry out human trials by the Us Food And Drug Administration(FDA).

In the future Neuralink aims to enhance memory cognitive abilities, restore a motor, sensory and visual functions as well as treat neurological disorders.
