A French bulldog is looking for a loving family to spend her life with ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Belle, whose name means beautiful, is being cared for at Dogs Trust Shoreham and is hoping to find a forever home.

The seven-year-old needs a family where she is the only pet in the home, but she can meet up with other sociable dogs for a walk.

She enjoys food-based enrichment activities such as snuffle mats and destruction boxes, participating in fun trick training and chilling out on a big cosy bed.

Adel Burnett, centre manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said: “Belle is a lovely dog. Her name means beautiful - and that perfectly describes her.

“Once bonded, Belle loves spending time with her human pals, however she can be timid at first and prefers to make friends at her own pace.

“Patient adopters who could take things slow and allow her the time she needs to make friends, would be ideal.

“Belle would make a wonderful companion to the right owners, she has lots of love to give.”

Owing to her sensitive character and tendency to become obsessive over her food, Belle is looking for a family where the youngest members are in their late teens.

Belle’s dream home would be somewhere quiet and peaceful, with non-slip flooring and minimal steps to contend with.

Anyone who can provide Belle with a forever home or who wants to find out more about any of the dogs available for rehoming can contact Dogs Trust Shoreham.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK.

The trust has a non-destructuion policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

The charity also focuses its efforts on understanding dogs and sharing that knowledge with the wider public to prevent problem behaviours that can result in relinquishment or abandonment.
