A cafe is celebrating its nine-year anniversary this week.

Baked, in Church Road, Hove, was founded in 2015 by owner Colin Beaddie.

It started as a 30-seat breakfast venue but has grown significantly over the years.

Colin, 51, said his staff and customers have made it "what it is today".

He said: "I really want to say a massive thank you to all our lovely customers, many we see every day. And to all my staff for their hard work. They have all made Baked what it is today.

"I’m very lucky to have a great team here.

"It makes my day when I read all your reviews saying how friendly everyone is."

Colin also thanked general manager Silvia who he said is "one in a million".

The Argus: The café has grown significantly and can now seat up to 90 people

He said: "Over the years she’s dealt with so much as our general manager.

"From break-ins, floods, Covid lockdowns and a total power loss on a busy Saturday, on top of the day-to-day running of the café.

"Silvia has just got on with it. A massive big thank you from me Silvia - you're one in a million."

The café, which is dog-friendly, is open seven days a week and serves a range of breakfast and lunches.

The venue has indoor and outdoor seating and a covered heating terrace.
