Hundreds of houses are without water after flooding and heavy rainfall.

More than 700 homes across rural East Sussex are currently without water after issues with their supply by South East Water.

The water company says that the issues have been caused by heavy rainfall and flooding which has led to “technical issues” at one of their treatment plants.

An update on the South East Water website says it is working “around the clock” to restore supply.

A bottled water station has been set up in Alfriston for those affected by the outage. Water supply is not expected to return until tomorrow.
