The first patient to receive a Neuralink chip in his brain used his thoughts to play chess.
Video of 29-year-old Nolan, the first patient with a neurochip implanted in his brain, using his thoughts to play online chess was posted by Elon Musk's business Neuralink. Eight years ago, he was involved in a car accident that left him paralysed from the shoulders down.
Nolan states he enjoys playing chess.In the video, Nolan states, "I haven't been able to do much the last few years, especially not this way." Additionally, he said that he could play Civilization VI for "eight hours straight" because of the chip.
Nolan claims that the procedure to insert the chip in The first patient to have a Neuralink chip implanted used his mind to play chess. Nolan also says that the operation of inserting the chip into the brain is super simple, and he was free to go home a day after the surgery took place.He says that the chip isn’t perfect and that there is still a long road ahead towards perfecting the chips.
