A new Channel 4 series will be filming the “most exciting amateur piano players” in the country at Brighton Station.

The Piano is a new series that wants pianists to play on public pianos in railway stations, as well as share their stories and music to commuters.

The series is filming this summer and autumn across the UK including at Brighton Station.

The series is being made by Love Productions and Channel 4.

A spokeswoman for Love Productions said: “Anyone can take part, from nonagenarians who have been playing their whole lives to 7-year-olds who have never played in public before, those who taught themselves to play the classics in lockdown to players who just feel the music, composing pieces about their life experiences.

“They are looking for every genre of music and piano performer - maybe you play jazz or Boogie Woogie, classical or musical comedy, or perhaps you sing or rap.

"As long as the piano is at the heart of your performance, they’d love to hear from you.

Filming will take place this summer and autumn in locations across the UK including Brighton Train Station, with auditions being held in spring.”
