Police will be using drones regularly over the weekends in the coming months.

This is part of an initiative to help people stay safe in and around the city at night, including along the seafront.

Brighton and Hove Police said they are planning to use these every weekend in the run-up to summer and beyond.

The drones are operated by a Sussex Police drone flight pilot.

A spokesman for the police force said: "We are planning on being out with the drone regularly over the weekends in the run-up to the summer months and beyond, so look up, you might be on camera.

"After a good night out in Brighton and Hove, the night should end with everybody tucked up safely in bed.

"Can you help us help you by doing your bit? Stick with your mates and keep an eye on each other, don’t leave drinks or belongings unattended and know your limits.

"If you need help, our officers will, as always, be around, so please don’t hesitate to ask.

"Report online or by calling 101."

People are also reminded to call 999 in an emergency situation.
