People are being asked to consider becoming hosts for Ukrainian refugees.

Brighton and Hove City Council said it is looking for more hosts who can provide a home for at least six months through the government's Homes For Ukraine scheme.

The council said: "We're looking for more hosts in the city to offer accommodation to Ukrainian guests, as some of our guests are coming to the end of their stays with their current hosts."

People interested can call 01273 293 117 and choose option 2 or send an email to Ukrainian.support@brighton-hove.gov.uk.

Council tenants can also become hosts and should email housing.customerserices@brighton-hove.gov.uk or phone 01273 29 30 30.

Tenants have been advised to seek advice to avoid any potential issues relating to tenancy agreements.

A spokesman for the council said: "We’ll do all we can to support you."
