A baby monkey at Drusillas zoo has learnt how to climb on his own at just four months old.

Ozzy, a red-handed tamarin, was born at the zoo near Alfriston in December last year and has been described as the "teeniest member" of the family.

He lives with his mum Isla, dad Kiwa and big brother Bowie.

The Argus: He can be seen clinging onto his brother's back

A spokesman for the zoo said: "The teeniest member of our family is now four months old and starting to climb and explore independently.

"Although we are super proud and love watching Ozzy grow into a strong little monkey, it already feels like it's going too fast.

"Mum Isla, dad Kiwa and big brother Bowie form the sweetest little family unit for Ozzy, so it's easy to see why they are so confident."

Ozzy, like all red-handed tamarins, is completely black apart from his distinctive red hands and feet.

The Argus: Ozzy has recently celebrated his four-month birthday

In the wild, his breed would usually live in the tropical rainforests of Brazil, Guyana, French Guinea and Surinam.

According to the zoo, Ozzy likes to cling on to the backs of his family members in their enclosure.

Ozzy celebrated his four-month milestone on April 10.
