A community has praised a new restaurant.

Residents across Shoreham have said that the Funky Dragon, which welcomed customers for the first time on Friday night in High Street, Shoreham, is "just what" the area needs.

The Chinese restaurant has also been described as a new asset to the high street.

The venue, at the site of the former Chambers Bistro which closed last year, has been completely renovated to fit in with the theme of the cuisine.

The owners have launched a lunch and dinner menu, with the first customers welcomed to the restaurant on Friday evening for the grand opening.

In response to the big day, many residents across the town have shared their excitement.

Caroll Brown said: "Just what we need in Shoreham."

Another Shoreham resident Siân James said: "Can’t wait. Menu looks amazing."

One person also said that the restaurant has helped provide jobs for people in the community.

Shanti Davies said: "Incredible news, love the menu.

"I am so happy as this has elevated the high street, as well as bringing jobs."

The restaurant will be open six days a week.

There will be separate opening times for lunch time hours and dinner service.
