A driver had a lucky escape after a tree which was hit by a lorry smashed through their front windscreen.
The terrifying incident happened on the A283, north of Shoreham and the A27, yesterday afternoon.
The car was travelling in the opposite direction when the incident happened. Luckily there was no front seat passenger and the driver was not injured.
A spokesperson for Sussex Roads Police said: "The driver of this vehicle had a very lucky escape this afternoon on the A283 between Dacre Gardens and Shoreham.
"A high-sided HGV has struck a branch which has detached and struck the car.
"If you witnessed or have dash cam please contact Sussex Police quoting CAD 904 14/5/24."
