Week 2 begins and what a lush weekend it has been, I am here a little pink from lack of suntan lotion and too much sun.

What have I seen, who have I met? Well, Friday saw Movin’ Mel at The Parlure! Amazing! Still absolutely love him. Caught an exhibition launch show at the media centre on Middle Street - great work and all the artists compliment each other perfectly and Graham Carter, one of my favorite Brighton artists work is up; I just wanted loads of cash to by it all up! (Actually the art is very reasonable).

Fringe City again on Saturday – HUGE success! Caught up with the lovely Sharon Elizabeth who is a singing cake maker; she sang Nessun Dorma and it actually bought a tear to my eye; she is on at the Friends Meeting house 22nd – 23rd.

Saturday night the top of all tops at St George's Church – The Brighton Beach Boys doing Pet Sounds v Sgt Pepper! WOW! Everyone was in the aisles of the magnificent church (probably one of the best Brighton venues in fact). Pet Sounds was very chilled but for Sgt Pepper everyone was up, singing and dancing and the atmosphere was electric and everyone was so happy. It ended with a song from neither album – All You Need Is Love - and it felt like a love in! Ahhh it will take a lot to beat that show! Oh and Nick Stockman cried at the Sgt Pepper Album – like a baby, hehe!

Then we went on to the Udderbelly club for a boogie; by then the wine made me feel like I had the best moves on the dance floor – hmmm in hindsight not so sure as I kept bumping into people. It was packed and it was ace music!

Sunday was more relaxed and I met up with Woody Sez, singer/song writer doing songs by Woody Guthrie he is at the Unitarian Church 11th – 14th May.

Green room still cool - we had the final cut ‘make a Fringe film in 24 hrs’ competition entries dropped off yesterday. The Green room has such a mix of people coming through the doors; it’s a really good way to meet the performers. I have given out lots of press advice and catching up with how things are going – all good feed back so far.

Unfortunately, I have had to council a few Fringe maidens on various issues with venues, promoters, lost keys etc. I am just glad that we can be here for people. It’s hard if you have come into a new city to do a show and it’s all a bit strange...
