After a slight recovery from the Beach Boys I had a relaxed day in the office and green room and saw Alice Russell in the evening at the Parlure – one of Brighton’s favourite soul singers.

Tuesday the 7th bought more activities, in between being in the green room I went to the beach to catch up with Lou McCurdy and a member of the RSPB collecting rubbish, for an exhibition about the environment in Shoreham. They filled an entire van in one hour. Lou rightly said that if everyone on the beach bought back their rubbish and a bit more we would have a better coastline. Apparently there is plastic in the gut of nearly every sea bird in the world due to rubbish from humans!

I then went to the lovely Friends Meeting House in the centre of town to see Drew doing a comedy play called fear of projection. He did a part of his play in the gardens with a projector screen.

Later on in the evening I went to see Movin Melvin Brown at the Parlure Spiegeltent. He is so great, he’s about 70 and he came out in an all in one lycra sparkly suit! He looked like a Motown Noel Fielding! He also did body pop river dancing...what more could you possibly want?

A great day!
