A 54-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car last night.
He was knocked down by a white Vauxhall on the A27 between Falmer and Lewes at 10.10pm, opposite the Newmarket Inn pub.
He died at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Sussex Police's road policing unit on 0845 6070999 quoting serial 2021 of August 16 or Operation Ramsey.
