Talented soul singer Amy Winehouse failed to turn up at a gig in Brighton tonight.
But fans of the drug-fuelled diva were not left disappointed - she had only reserved tickets on a guestlist and was not set to perform.
Earlier this evening she had called the Concorde 2 in Madeira Drive after hearing that her heroes, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, were due to perform there.
But although the talented soulsters duly appeared, only Amy Winehouse's name did - on a guestlist with space for four friends.
But to the sell-out crowd of unsuspecting revellers, nothing was amiss as they enjoyed an amazing performance from the soul legends on stage.
If she had made it to the gig, it is unclear whether Amy Winehouse would have got to perform with Martha and her fellow Mowtowners. But it would have been a legendary meeting of minds worthy of the Concorde 2's stage.
