A woman who fell from a three-storey window is showing the first signs of recovery.

Vicky Taylor, 25, fell from her window in a block of flats on Craven Road, Brighton, in the early hours of August 3.

She was taken to Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath with head injuries and left fighting for her life.

The police attended the 5am incident but are not treating it as suspicious.

Yesterday, the hospital revealed Miss Taylor is showing signs of recovery.

Messages for her have poured in from her family, friends and former classmates at Cardinal Newman Catholic School in Brighton.

Jemma Fleet, who went to school with Miss Taylor, wrote: “We hope you make a full recovery.

It’s a great shock.”

She is described as being a “strong person” with a “smiley face”.

Her niece described Miss Taylor as “the best auntie ever”

and said “all we can do is wait”.

Paul Miller, a member of staff at the school, said: “I speak for all the staff at Newman and wish Vicky a full recovery.”

Another friend wrote: “I can’t believe what’s happened. We were sitting laughing a few weeks ago, having our hair done.

“Please get well. We all miss you.”

Miss Taylor moved to the flats in June 2003 and is the only registered tenant.

A Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman said: “We have never had any complaints from Vicky and there have never been any problems at the flat.

“We are all very concerned about her and wish her a speedy recovery.”
